The Mad Crabber

For the year of 2023, I was the sole manager of the Instagram and Facebook for the restaurant, The Mad Crabber. The Mad Crabber is a family owned and operated seafood restaurant located in Avon, North Carolina. Being around since 1991, they have loyal followers, locals and visitors alike. However, it was my job to bring in new customers by expanding their reach online.

Prior to my management of these accounts, the content was mostly food posts and important announcements. I wanted to build a more comprehensive portrait of The Mad Crabber by not only highlighting the food, but also showcase the fresh ingredients, skilled and hospitable staff, quality non-food merchandise, and exemplary bar program. By diversifying content, I was able to boost engagement among multiple audience segments. 

Though all of the social media marketing for The Mad Crabber was organic, both social media channels saw a sizable increase in reach under my content strategy. This can be seen in the graphs below in which there were significant spikes in reach and page and profile visits when I became social media manager in May. The percentages above the graph represent the percentage increase compared to the previous year (2022).
